Bears Earn a Statement Win in EFA Opener

The New York Bears used an explosive second half to skate by the visiting Empire State Demon Knights, 33-6, in what was their home opener on Saturday. The Bears were down 6-0 after the first quarter thanks to a Ricardo Caballero TD toss to Tyler Sawicki, but in the second the Bears got ahead after a ESDK turnover, and a TD grab by Trey Peddie, part of a monster evening for him.

Up 7-6 at the half, the Bears exploded for 26 second half points, 19 of which came in the fourth quarter. Peddie would finish with 8 catches for 179 yards and added another TD, part of four TD passes in the game for Juan Rodriguez.

The Bears will be right back at it next week against the Legion, while ESDK is idle, and won't play again until their home opener on August 26.
