Close Games Dictate September 30 Slate in EFA-XEFL
Three games, all decided by a single score, comprised the EFA - XEFL slate of games this weekend. In a hotly-contested cross-league affair, the Cumberland Cobras got in the win column at home, besting the Empire State Demon Knights, 12-8, in a game that could have gone either way. The win brought Cumberland to within a game of the idle Philadelphia Venom, while the loss leveled ESDK to a record of 2-2.
The New York Legion scored their first on-the-field victory, using their defense to shut down the Bandits in a 12-6 win that they took on their home field at Granite Knolls. The win moved the Legion into second place in the EFA at 3-2, thanks in part to two forfeit wins as well. The Bandits fell to 0-4.
The XEFL's Baltimore United fell victim to the Marlboro Stallions of the AFCA in a game that counts towards the XEFL standings by a thin, 8-0, margin. That brought the UNited down to 0-2 as they sit in third place in the XEFL standings.
