Week 5 Roundup: EFA Scores Wins in Shutouts

For the first time this 2023 season, three games were on the EFA agenda, and although only two were played it was a big week on the scoreboard for a pair of EFA teams. The New York Bears stayed red-hot, scoring a 21-0 win in the first EFA vs. XEFL crossover game over the Cumberland County Cobras, going on the road to take the win.

In the crossover game, the New York Legion were awarded a win via forfeit over the previously unbeaten Philadelphia Venom, as the Venom were unable to make the trip to the game. In an all EFA tilt, the Empire State Demon Knights looked unstoppable in a 48-0 drubbing of the New York Bandits. In the game that was featured on PDF Sports Network, the Demon Knights scored on all but one of their offensive drives and added two pick-sixes to punctuate the win.

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Venom did get a game in and took care of business against the Baltimore United by a score of 32-0, improving to 2-1 to continue to lead the way in the XEFL.
